A solid oak beam is cut into planks that, depending on their thickness and width, can be used directly as floorboards or tabletops. The material retains its character throughout, including the colour and grain structure that have developed over the years.
A hundred-year-old oak beam has a heartwood that is dense and stable. When it is cut through, a grain pattern is revealed that simply does not exist in new timber. Planks sawn from antique beams therefore have an appearance that is difficult to imitate. They are used for solid wood floors as well as for rustic wooden tables and other pieces of furniture.

Available dimensions in reclaimed oak vary considerably, from small sections of 10×10 centimetres to heavy beams of more than 30×30 centimetres and lengths exceeding ten metres. In addition to oak, other timber species are available, including tropical hardwood from maritime applications and pine or fir from historic structures.
