Old oak table

The table in the home is the place for eating and drinking with family or friends, and the place for working or reading.
Oak has been used for tables for centuries; it is strong and solid material that lasts for decades.
Therefore, in the past, an oak table stayed in the family for a long time and was passed down to new generations over and over again.
The purchase of an oak table is a purchase for life.

A rich collection of oak tables

About 60 oak tables and table tops are exhibited in the old brick factory in Doorwerth.
Each old wooden table is unique, which is why the selection is always different.
There are old oak tables in various styles, such as long monastery tables, sturdy industrial tables or robust tree trunk tables.

In addition to the tables on display, it is possible to have an old oak table custom made in the furniture workshop.

Oak table indoors

The old oak tables in the collection are suitable for interior applications such as dining room or living kitchen, for example.
The old planks are joined and glued together by means of slats.
This keeps the tabletop straight and allows for decades of dining.

Old oak outdoor table

In the spring or summer, there is nothing nicer than having a long dinner under a canopy or in the garden.
An old oak outdoor table or garden table can be a real eye-catcher.
If the table is left free in the garden, the oak will age naturally due to the various weather influences.
A canopy or veranda slows down this process.
The silver-gray hues of an outdoor oak table blend beautifully with the greenery.
From spring to late summer, the wood yard has several outdoor tables in the collection.

Old oak table

Oak tables are made from old planks such as, for example, old wagon planks from French freight wagons.
Or, for example, ^19th-century oak planks from farmhouses and field barns.
This choice of wood creates an oak table with a lived-in look.

Brushed or planed?

A brushed table has a robust look and has brown to dark brown color tones.
The relief of the planks is retained in this case.
It is also possible to plane the oak planks.
The result: relatively flat planks that have a light brown to beige color.

Old oak base

The furniture maker can make a suitable wooden base for an old oak table.
There are different models to choose from such as, for example, the French model, the five-legged model or the monastery model.

Old oak table made to measure

Can’t find a table to your liking in our large collection?
Then there is also the possibility of having an oak dining table custom made in the furniture workshop.
On a visit to the wood yard, the favorite planks are selected by yourself and the furniture maker then gets to work on the table or table top.
It is also possible to have a matching wooden base made.

How is an oak table treated?

In some cases it may be beautiful or necessary to treat the wood.
Make a well-considered choice in this regard (feel free to ask us for advice!) and always try out the product on a leftover piece first.
A brushed tabletop usually does not need to be treated; the wood already has a natural protective layer.
A planed table top can be treated with an ultra matte lacquer, for example Skylt ban Rigostep.
This product has minimal impact on the color and the table is still well protected.

Old oak table price

The tables in the collection are priced individually.
The price depends, among other things, on the size of the top and the material.
To give a rough indication: a table top between 160 and 200 cm costs € 700 to € 950 incl.
vat, a table top between 200 cm and 250 cm costs € 950 to € 1,600 incl.
vat and an oak table top of 300 cm costs € 1,300 to € 2,000 incl. btw. There are always old oak table tops that are more sharply priced, and there are always unique tops that are pricier.
